Yashoda conducts international workshop on interventional cardiology
Yashoda Group of Hospitals organised an international cardiology workshop ‘Basics and Beyond – 2012, an Interventional Cardiology Update’ at Hyderabad on 23rd & 24th June 2012. Eminent International Cardiologists fromKorea, Japan, Europe and the US were included in the faculty.
The two-day workshop included lectures interactive sessions and debates on the latest trends in Interventional Cardiology. The workshop also opened up discussions on the epidemiology, risk factors and management of heart diseases.
About 500 General Practitioners, Physicians, Cardiologists, Fellows and Interventional Cardiologists from all overIndiaattended the workshop. Live Coronary, Peripheral Interventions and Valvuloplasty procedures were performed at Yashoda hospital and relayed at the workshop followed by an interaction with the faculty. Advanced techniques like Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) and Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) were also demonstrated.
Dr Pramod Kumar Kuchulakanti, Chairman, Scientific Committee of the workshop said, “The workshop is aimed at updating the recent guidelines about coronary risk factors, need for evaluation of asymptomatic high risk patients, new treatment options for coronary heart disease, heart failure and also demonstrating the application of latest technologies. Attendees will discover the latest guideline and evidence-based management of heart diseases to improve patient care and optimize outcomes using this interactive platform that combines live case presentations and break-out discussions.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr G S Rao, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals said, “Yashoda Heart Institute has earned the reputation of being a leader in heart care performing approximately 10,000 procedures annually. This initiative is a small step in keeping with our aim to increase awareness on medical advancements by sharing our vast knowledge gained over these two decades.”
