Pratik Bodake gets a new life

Little Hearts received help aid request from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai for patient, master Pratik Bodake age 8 months, suffering from congenital cyanotic heart disease with atrial septal defect. The patient was advised to undergo Senning Repair cardiac surgery.
The operation was done on January 12, 2012. The patient was discharged on January 20, 2012. Dr Suresh Rao, the cardiologist at the hospital reported in the discharge summary that the operation wounds healed well. There was no pericardial or pleural effusion.
The total expenditure was Rs 3 lakh. Wockhardt Foundation gave help aid of Rs 40,000 towards the operation.
The parents of Pratik are very happy for the timely operation of their child. They have expressed a lot of gratitude to Wockhardt Foundation and appreciate Wockhardt Foundation which helps poor and needy families. Commenting in this context, Dr Huzaifa Khorakiwala, CEO, Wockhardt Foundation, said, “He was suffering from congenital cyanotic heart disease and the surgery was extremely necessary, otherwise he would have died. In India, almost, 3 lakh children are suffering from this disease. Usually the parents of these children are 25-30 years and it is difficult for them to afford Rs 2 lakh, cost of the surgery single handedly. So everyone has to come together.” He added, “We contribute up to Rs 40,000.”
