Government promises better medical services for the state
Administrative and emergency services will be started at divisional level in Maharashtra for providing better medical facilities to the people, said Vijay Kumar Gavit, Medical Education Minister. Care would be taken to overcome shortcomings in these services, he added. Gavit was speaking after inauguration of the building housing medicine department at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) here in central Maharashtra.
The medicine department is well equipped and efforts are being to upgrade other departments too, Gavit said. In the coming years, the Government will open four medical colleges and cancer units in Pune, Nagpur and Akola, he said. Minister for School Education Rajendra Darda was among those present on the occasion.
